Bausch Datacom achieves Key Milestone in Cybersecurity Certification for Grid Applications

Leuven, January, 2026 – Bausch Datacom, in collaboration with its strategic partner Ritter Technologie, is proud to announce that its flagship Remote Terminal Units — DinBox RTU Q7 and DB RTU SL+ — have officially achieved IEC 62443 certification. This marks a major step forward in aligning with NIS2 and ISO 27001 cybersecurity standards for critical infrastructures.

The certification reinforces the secure-by-design philosophy embedded across Bausch Datacom’s R&D, production, and consulting services. With IEC 62443 compliance, our RTUs now fully support the strict European regulations governing both hardware and software security in high-stakes grid environments.

This milestone is part of a broader certification roadmap that will see full IEC 62443 and RED compliance across our product portfolio by the end of  2026.

In addition, the DB RTU SL+ and DinBox RTU Q7 now offer full support for the IEC 61850 protocol, empowering utilities to deploy the RTUs in demanding IED-based monitoring and (most) control scenarios. Combined with existing support for IEC 60870-5-104, MQTT, Modbus, and integrated 4G/5G connectivity, these products represent the leading edge of secure, high-performance grid communication gateways.

Together with the ongoing ISO 27001 certification of our production facilities, this represents a major leap in the professionalism, reliability, and trustworthiness of a European based technology.

Through this continuous innovation, Bausch Datacom and the Ritter Group are committed to setting the standard for European-designed, future-proof grid monitoring solutions.
