InduBox GSM M4: latest generation of InduBox family with Ethernet, RS-232 and RS-485 interface!
In Q4 2016 Bausch Datacom will release the InduBox GSM M4 modem. This modem is the latest version of the InduBox family and adds a complete new feature: an Ethernet interface! The modem is also future proof; the pin-out on the common form factor enables forward and backward compatibility between the different 2G, 3G and future 4G and LTE module variants.

Since 1989 Bausch Datacom has focused on helping equipment owners save money without risk to reliability. We continue to build on over 25 years of manufacturing experience with quality components, innovation in engineering, service and support to our customers.

Ethernet interface and TLS security
The InduBox GSM M4 modem is the latest Bausch modem in a wall mountable and sealable InduBox housing, building on the robustness of the InduBox GSM IX and predecessors and with 2 total new features: the integration of an Ethernet interface - additional to the classical serial (RS-232/485) interfacing - and TLS encryption and authentication.

'Heavy' industrial environments
Like all InduBox modems the InduBox GSM M4 is especially conceived for 'heavy' industrial environments. The device will be tested according to the TST 25-3 extended immunity requirements in the Belgian electricity market. To prevent a lock-up the InduBox GSM M4 is equipped with a long term, configurable watchdog, allowing an automatic and 'hard' reset each 1 to 68 hours (configurable).

Basic router or transparent modem
Moreover the InduBox GSM M4 includes a router functionality for up to 8 LAN devices. This possible usage of the modem as a basic router opens a whole new market for new but cost-effective applications in the utilities.
The InduBox GSM M4 with integrated 85-264 Vac power supply can be programmed through a webserver interface as a traditional transparent modem for meter reading, but also as a basic micro-RTU for IEC 60870-5-104 & Modbus applications or as a basic router to your network LAN device (meter, RTU, etc.).
All these features result in a top quality modem with an impressive history - approximately 60.000 InduBox modems in the field of utilities.

Praxis Modem Management
The modem will be functioning with the Praxis Management System in the future. This will make it possible to group your modem infrastructure, change for instance Baud rates (serial applications), log the RSSI, change from CSD data to GPRS and vice versa. The Praxis modem management system is an ongoing functionality system that offers new features customer based. The first release of InduBox GSM M4 modems will be equipped with a GPRS or 3G module, but on specific customer demand LTE is possible.
