European electricity network distributors ORES Belgium and SIG Genève sign contract with Bausch Datacom to deliver IEC-60870-5-104 RTU's for substation control.
ORES, is the main electricity network distributor of the Wallonie region of Belgium, with personnel over 2.300 people and established in more than 198 municipalities. ORES' main task is to manage the electricity and gas grid for the territorry they're responsible. 1,3 million homes are depending on the services of ORES in the Wallone territory. ORES will use the DinBox RTU SL to communicate to their SCADA back office using the IEC 60870-5-104 TCP/IP protocol.
The RTU will be mainly installed for short-circuit alarming in the MV (15kV) grid but can also - through the Modbus RS-485 protocol - be interfaced with other metering and measuring (Power Quality) devices. Also the RTU can be a step-up for the ARGUS portfolio of Bausch Datacom to be launched in january 2016.

DinBox RTU SL as a communication and monitoring device for MV/LV substations
The main mission of the DinBox RTU SL is to maintain the GPRS (3G) communication between a IEC-60870-5-104 Master environment (SCADA) and all kind of event measurements in the MV/LV grid. The product can interface through the Modbus protocol all kind of Power Quality or other sensor devices
and or communicate alarming events. It is a powerfull tool in upgrading all kinds of devices to a IEC 60870-5-104 environment.
In Q1 2016 , it will be possible to upgrade the communication functions to measuring functions such as Fault Passage Indication, Power Quality and metering through the use of submodules.
